It is hard to believe that we have just over a month before we being our trip. Of course we have to stop off and see both of our families before we go! Our goal is to leave the U.S. just after New Years.
The camper is almost ready to go. We have had to do some renovations... like putting down carpet, painting the inside, making curtains, installing a water filter system (no parasites for us!), and putting as many safety hooks on the cabinets so that our stuff does not come flying out when we hit those pothole roads down south!
John has had a few issues with the truck, but nothing that he couldn't fix! Better things go wrong now rather than breaking down on some desolate highway were a sheep and his 10 sheep friends will be of no help.
Almost all of our stuff is packed up and sitting in my grandparents garage up at their cabin (near Telluride, CO). We drove the truck there on veggie oil without any problems. That was the longest trip so far that we took in the truck and it was great! Most of our oil we got at this Chinese restaurant up in Evergreen near John's house. Now when we find great oil we say we've found Chinese gold!
Also, we have named the truck (John's dad Joe came up with this one!) The Colonel and the pop up camper on the back we were going to name Popeye, but I wanted a female name so we came up with Olive Oyl (Popeye's girlfriend)!
That is all for now! More to came later...
ciao kindra
